The Royal City Pride Society's annual Pride Festival, held last weekend at Tipperary Park, had it largest turnout yet.
Pride events are meant to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) culture.
"It was the third year, and the best year we've seen so far," Pride society president Shelly Reinhart said. "We were blessed with great weather - not too hot, not too cold. It was just right."
The four-day Pride event ran from Thursday, Aug. 16 to Sunday, Aug. 18. But the festival really culminated on Saturday, when the annual Hills and Heels fundraiser, which raises money for New Westminster's Lookout Society, kicked off, and then a family-friendly gathering was held at the park near city hall.
