The New Westminster Twins 9/10 all-star team won the third annual Burnaby Summer Fun Baseball Tournament last weekend at Kensington Park.
The New West team was red hot in the championship final, rolling over the Ladner Red Sox 14-1 in a second straight game called by the mercy rule on Sunday. Twins catcher Gavin Bhullar and outfielder Matteo Lesjak were named co-MVP's in the final game.
In the Sunday morning semifinal, New Westminster thumped the Newton Nationals 14-4, in four innings. Game MVP was slugger Justin Adamoski.

The second game of the day saw the Twins edge a strong White Rock squad, 10-7. Game MVP was pitcher Trevor Tong. Next up on the Saturday, was Vancouver, who were defeated in a tense, action-filled game, 7-4. Game MVP was pitcher Max Yuen. The evening game with the Aldergrove Dodgers was not as close, with the Twins strong hitting attack providing a 12-3 victory. Game MVP was second baseman Alex Lazecki.
The Twins received strong pitching during the tournament from Justin Adamoski, Max Yuen, Trevor Tong, Alex Lazecki, Gavin Bhullar, Liam Bates and Jalen Sami. Others contributing on the mound and at the plate included Brendan Wang, Callum Chow-White and catcher Nicholas Young.
