Burnaby Lake won the women's rugby treble on Saturday.
The premier division women snapped up their third piece of silverware this season, edging Bayside 6-0 in the Lower Mainland women's Tier 1 Anna Schnell Cup final at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex-East.
Schnell, a former Canadian national team standout and BLRC club member, retired from international rugby last year.
Schnell was the second highest scorer at the recent women's rugby World Cup. She was also named the B.C. Rugby Union female athlete of the year in 2010.
Played under cold and wet conditions, Burnaby Lake kicked its way to victory in the cup final on penalty kicks by Becky Querido and Canadian international back Julia Sugawara.
Burnaby Lake advanced to the finals with a 19-5 win over Simon Fraser University.
Earlier this season, the Burnaby women clinched the provincial 15a-side club title in May, while also taking first place overall in the B.C. Sevens Series this summer.
Burnaby Lake also won the Tier 2 West Coast women's rugby association shield by default over the Brit-Lions.
In other women's rugby finals, Meraloma blanked Capilano 340 in the Tier 1 shield final, while Abbotsford beat UBC 31-12 in the Tier 2 cup final.
