The Fraser Valley Cyclones, including North Langley's Shane Younker and Langley's Chad McColm, are the B.C. Senior League (15-and 16year-olds) champions. The Cyclones swept North Shore in the best-of-three B.C. championship series, held at Walnut Grove Park over the weekend. Fraser Valley won the opener 8-2 behind the strong pitching of Ben McCarthy (left). Younker, pictured below running to second base in the first contest, pitched the second game, which Fraser Valley won 8-7. In that match-up, Younker drove in the winning two runs to give his team the B.C. title. The Cyclones are now off to the Canadian Senior League Championships. The national tournament is scheduled for Aug. 2-8 in Regina.
