My family and I were walking from the cauldron of fire, up burrard and walked passed Wayne Gretsky (and two other whom I didn't recognize). My sons freaked out. I stopped, debated, then grabbed them and ran after him. I stopped him just before he was about to walk, into the Bental Centre and asked if he would take a picture with my two sons, who were uncharacteristically quiet.. Yes, and here it is!!!

These CCC-endorsed events offer a free incentive award to each participant - a red and white "Team Canada" ball cap signed by members of the Cross-Country Olympic Team (a one-time item for an Olympic year). The Dutch love their 'tulpen' - tulips to you and me. In this case they're orange. The colours of the Netherlands flag are red, white and blue. Orange is the colour of the Dutch Royal Family. The lineage of the current dynasty -- the House of Oranje-Nassau -- dates back to William of Orange. But, while the colour orange has royal connections, it symbolizes pride in country and being Dutch as evident with this this Dutch gentleman on West Georgia Street today..
