It's all about family fun for New Westminster school trustee David Phelan, who likes visiting local parks with his wife and two boys.
Crowds flocked to the inaugural event in 2010, but rain forced last year's Summerfest in Grimston Park to be cancelled. The sun once again shone on this year's event, which featured live music, kids' games and food by some Royal City Farmers Market vendors and others.
They're some of the Royal City's keenest, brightest businesses and business leaders, and now they've got the hardware to prove it.

On Thursday, two local bloggers released their endorsements of who they believe would make the best mayor, councillors and school trustees for New Westminster. The bigger question is what effect those endorsements will have on the Nov. 19 civic election.
