This Saturday, a group of Maple Ridge firefighters will be hosing down items that aren't on fire.

The annual - and ever-popular - Maple Ridge firefighters' annual car wash supports the burn units at Vancouver General Hospital and BC Children's Hospital.

The 11th annual event runs from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Maple Ridge Baptist Church, 22155 Lougheed Hwy.

Over the past decade, a total of $38,642 has been raised for the cause. The 2011 fundraiser was so successful, motorists lined up to have their cars washed.

After 11 a.m. on Saturday, Panago Pizza (Maple Ridge) will be handing out pizza slices to all who make donations.

JACK FM will also be on site again with its Trucksicle.
