The 2012 Terry Fox Run in New Westminster attracted more people and made more money than it's done in many years.

Kathy Jones, who has organized the event for the past five years, was thrilled with the response to this year's event. Nearly 300 people participated in the Sept. 16 run, which raised $8,500 for cancer research.

After many years at Queen's Park, this year's run started at River Market and travelled through Westminster Pier Park and the waterfront.
