Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation received $5,000 to launch the HIVE Community Kitchen.

A partnership between Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation, the Family Education and Support Centre, and Vancity will provide a community kitchen at the HIVE, located at Eric Langton Elementary, promoting the health and well-being of people in the community.

"Our partnership with these organizations, to launch a community kitchen at the HIVE community centre, promises to be another excellent opportunity to support healthy living," said Jayne Perrault, Vancity Pitt Meadows branch manager.

The HIVE community kitchen will be helping to educate people about budgeting, nutrition, healthy diets, and cooking options in order to live a healthier lifestyle.

"We are very pleased to have Vancity as our partner in the delivery of healthcare," commented Sandra Rankin, executive director of the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.
