Hip hop to help

Several Lower Mainland bands are playing at a Friday fundraiser

A hip-hop heavy evening at a downtown Langley nightclub will raise funds for BC Children's Hospital.

Gary Scott, of Striktly Entertainment, and Richard Murphy, of Evolution Entertainment, have organ-ized an evening of music Friday, Aug. 10 at China Beach, 20299 Industrial Ave. Tickets are $10.

"We're donating half of every ticket to Children's Hospital," Scott explained.

There will be other fundraising activities during the evening.

He said the hospital helps people throughout B.C.

"I was in a coma when I was young," he noted. "I was in there for several weeks."

He added that he's grateful the hospital was there when his kids needed medical care as well.

"I just felt like we should give back," Scott said.

The doors open at 8 p.m., and the line-up includes Dead Alive, Kid Savage, DTG, Big M.I.C., Sosakasauce, Gully, Chunky Dolla, and Born Stoned.
